Apparently Freedall stuck with this series, since I bought the first 4 books ‘blindly’ I love the idea of going Underground alright, just hated the prolonged writing style.
But this one bit faster, cause here’s a Freefall. AND the theory of Hollow Earth. Now that the Urban Fantasy is back with more focus of the plot in the Topsoil, and the element of the old Science Theories, things getting much interesting now like the first half of book one, yet it still could be better told in less than pages.
Everything gorcon be good if there wasn’t Will’s father which I found annoying as hell. His ignorance was killing me. Apr 11, Lindsey rated it really liked it. Of the three books so far in the series, this is the one that I have enjoyed the most. The previous two largely take place in the dismal underground worlds controlled by the Styx, but Freefall is a subterranean area completely untouched by these evil humans.
Thus, the general mood from the characters feels lighter, and the spirit of adventure is stronger.
My favorite part, though would have to be once they get to the very center in which is gordn a second sun. Burrows references throughout grdon first and second books, but it makes a lot more sense as the authors describe it. It literally is a sun that formed inside of the earth, and, as such, there is another, smaller world there that is similar to the one we inhabit on the surface.
After an encounter with the Rebecca twins and Styx army, the group of friends fell down a deep hole known as the Pore.
Freefall (Tunnels: Book 3)
Having been mortally wounded, Will’s biological mother used her last moments to knock the Rebecca twins into the Pore as well, and with them, the vials of the deadly Dominion virus. Will and his group of friends must find a way to keep the Rebecca twins from escaping the Pore with the virus. They meet new friends and explore new places that bring them closer to understanding the inner workings of the earth. But will they be able to stop rodercik Styx plot, escape the Deeps, and return to their lives in the world above?
The books in the TUNNELS series are long, and with the shifting points of view, sometimes can frustrate me when I have to leave a character in the middle of a dangerous situation to delve into another character’s mind and situation, only to rodedick them and go to yet another. Though it toderick frustrate me at times, it doesn’t keep me from reading and wanting more. With each page turn, my fascination with this subterranean world created by Gordon and Williams increased.
Oct 11, Michelle rated it it was amazing. I am so happy- wait, spoiler- that Elliot and Will finally killed the Rebecca twins. I have a friend who read the fifth book of the series first, and I don’t think the Rebecca twins actually died. Or if there are actually more than just two. I am getting the fourth book in 12 days, exactly, and it is driving me crazy!
This is a really good book. Mar 08, Jenny Huang rated it really liked it.
May 19, Amber M. This was the most intriguing of the series so far Feb 11, Grant B rated it it was amazing.
FreeFall (Tunnels, book 3) by Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams
There are so many things you can’t expect! Mungkin karena saya melahap seri ketiga tanpa membaca dua seri sebelumnya, butuh waktu lama untuk memahami jalan cerita. Terutama istilah-istilah seperti Pore, Deeps, Topsoil, Colony, dll. Meski rkderick lama, pada akhirnya jalan ceritanya bisa diikuti. Akan tetapi, tak seperti ekspektasi ketika membaca cerita freefll fantasi macam ini, alur ceritanya tergolong lambat dan cenderung datar. Keseruan gorvon muncul sesekali.
Jan 22, Preston Sherwood rated it liked it Shelves: Freefall, in my opinion, was all over the place. At the beginning of the book they are on a ledge in one of the Seven Sisters, named The Pore. They survive the fall, and end up finding another human, Martha, on that same layer of The Pore, in which the gravity is abnormally low.
Rodderick would be amazed that I survived the fall, let alone that there was another person living in The Pore.
Martha took Will, Elliot, and Chester in, and they went exploring. They ended up getting Dr. Burrows back from the R Freefall, in my opinion, was all over the place. Burrows back from the Rebecca twins who where found at feefall end of the book.
Burrows, however, get separated from Elliot, Martha, and Chester, and they return to Highfield, where they meet up with Drake and Mrs. I would probably have the same reaction as Mrs. Burrows did when she saw Will, which was her crying her eyes out. And after all of that, they had to go back underground, where rodrrick had another emotional reunion with Elliot, Martha, and Chester. At the end of the book, Will avenges Cal’s death and kills the Rebecca twins and the Limiter that was traveling with them, as well as he got the phials with the Dominion virus and the Dominion vaccine.
I just can’t wait until I get to roderkck the next book in this amazing series! Jul 18, Katie rated it it was amazing. I really enjoyed reading this book. I have been waiting for it to toderick out for a couple of months after I had finished reading “Deeper” I really like the idea of the whole story and it is a book I found hard to put down.
I personally think this book rocerick great until the ending, when the surroundings of the “second sun” place was so similar to “topsoil” life, it has a lack of imagination and mystery. It wasn’t the way I would have hoped the book to end, I was expecting frefall bit more than just some “n I really enjoyed reading this book. It wasn’t the way I would have hoped the book to end, I was expecting a bit more than just some “normal” sightings in the “second sun” place to be the ending.
I still have question unanswered about the virus, if they go back to “topsoil” what happens to Mrs. Burrows and do Chester and Martha make it to “topsoil”?
And what Drake and Elliot’s fathers plans are? Which I am guessing will all be answered in a fourth book? Which I can’t wait for. Apart from that, it was a really good read!! I hope that some day it will be made into a film: Mar 06, KJVerdecia added it.
This is book 3 of a 6 book set. I have thoroughly enjoyed going on this journey with Will, Chester and the rest of the gang. It is dreefall book with threat of global domination and destruction.
One of the goron of the book that is keeping me reading is all of the main characters are children and or no older than Even the “evil” character is a set of teenage twin girls. For me this is a familiar story line theme. I am very curious how these 2 authors carry it out. So far the have kept me interest This is book 3 of a 6 book set. So far the have kept me interested rodfrick 3 books. It is definitely a tween level book. It is not a difficult read just a long story.
In my opinion, it is a great story.
