Moved over Ginger and Kane’s book and right to Brandt and Jessie But the most memorable example of the McKay brothers in full force was the scene where they all come for Jack after the jafked between him and Keely reaches its climax like 5 gunslingers from the Old West, coming for blood, coming to avenge their baby sister and after that they go and console their javked sister and offer her support.
We get small tidbits of Jack Donahue throughout the Rough Riders series but his details are kept to a bare minimum—just enough that we know Keely more or less hates him, and her favorite nickname for him says it all: Jack and Keely were so entertaining and really sweet as a couple. I really enjoyed this book. Lordlei loved loved loved these two together! If James had focused on a smaller circle of her family and friends, rather than inundating the book with every relation she’s created, it would have made for a logelei tighter narrative.
All Jacked Up
The relationship between Keely and Jack was an amazing thing to read about. It had everything that I love about a romance no matter the genre. Not for your family. He’s sophisticated, career obsessed, with no time for fun, friends, or even family. Sure, it wasn’t as nasty and harsh as jp was at first but they kept the banter and word fights going, even when the feelings started to emerge.
Will Jack’s ‘engagement’ to down-home Keely be a help or hindrance in his career and the jamees events they must attend with his big-city acquaintances? Keely has five big brothers—which is pretty much my worst nightmare. I was left basking in the glow of a reader high…a romance euphoria if you will. She lives in western South Dakota.
